Silver Medal at British Sprint Triathlon Championships
My last race before the European Championships and I wanted to give it
my all to see where it took me!
Up at 4.30 for the long, boring motorway journey to Milton Keynes but what
a lovely location to hold the championships. Emberton Country Park is
The water temperature was 14 degrees however, so wetsuit it was.
The ladies wave was last off so I had time to check out the previous waves - bike out, run out, swim course etc. Then it was my turn.
I managed to get into a good position at the start and had a good swim. The lake didn't actually feel too cold and I, came out of the water around 7th place. It wasnt my best transition as my wetsuit got a bike stuck but setting of onto the 20k bike leg felt good and the new position after my recent bike fitting worked really well for me. A fairly undulating route took me back into a technical section on entry into transition 2 but I felt good going into the run - probably the best Ive felt going off the bike so far.
My running hasn't been on point just recently, but this is the best Ive done in a long while for a 5k off the bike so I'm happy with how it all went.
Even happier to get the silver medal at the British Championships - a big improvement on last year - but still better to come.
I am looking forward to competing for my country in Lisbon in a couple of weeks but in the meantime - back to the training.
Thanks to: PEDAL POTENTIAL. SOVEREIGN PLAY EQUIPMENT. And Perry (Trisutto) for all your continued support which I am really grateful for.
